The doctor was talking about releasing her today, but she does not think she is ready. Her blood sugars kept dropping the whole night and they had to give her glucogon many times through the night. She is worried that because she is not eating anything, she will not get enough to sustain herself. She tried drinking juice through the night, but it wasn't enough to keep her blood sugar up to a managable level. She convinced Dr. Sutherland to keep her one more night, but she could tell he didn't like it.

Micheal, can she get the juice in and then some type of protein? even if its just cheese? can they get her a script or get her some liquid protein? its available at health food stores.. its sour or tart but it will keep the sugar up. peanut butter? it has carb and protein.. ummmm im trying to think of things easy on stomach yet can get in w/o feeling sick. eggs ? she could eat eggs and toast with some jelly? i sure hope she can get that protein in to help hold the sugars so she wont drop. maybe her insulin is too high? we had to tweak jerrys. only ten units down but it made a difference! Get that protein in if you can any way you can Lisa, your body will use muscle to replace its lost protein... jerrys muscle tone was awful until we started pushing the proteins. hes getting better at it. I sure hope things get better fast!
